Holiday Markets You Need to Hit
The best seasonal pop-ups and local finds in Westchester & The Hudson Valley
I'm doing things a bit differently this year. Instead of my usual gift guide, I've rounded up some of my favorite holiday pop-ups and makers' markets in the area. Some of these markets run from now until the end of December. Others are single-day or weekend events.
I've been following a bunch of makers online and have my eye on some really cool stuff! While I haven't made it to all these spots yet, these are the local places I'm planning to hit up this holiday season:
Austen Boland Interiors - If you follow @andNorth, then you know Emma Tucillo, the super-talented curator of where to stay in the Hudson Valley. She and her partner have teamed with photographer Michael Gaillard up for this pop-up, which is part shop and part living room, featuring vintage furniture, objects from upstate makers, books, and more. Warning: It's almost impossible to leave empty-handed! I went on opening day and got cocktail napkins from Boxwood Linens, and I want to go back for one of the gorgeous antique rugs from Upstate Rug Supply. Grab a coffee on the weekends from @boxinddaycafe.
AUSTEN BOLAND INTERIORS, 576 Warburton Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson
Through December 24 | Wednesday-Friday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM | Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
The Holiday Shoppe & Coffee Bar - The Floral Society's holiday pop-up at the Palisades building in Dobbs Ferry is back! I'm obsessed with the earth-toned taper candles that come in so many lengths and shapes. I picked up a few candle holders – they look just like round votives at first glance, but they're actually designed to hold any taper candle. I got the 6" in miel (honey) for my Thanksgiving table.
But it's not just candles here – there are table linens, dried flowers, and gorgeous gardening things, too. Everything comes in these beautiful earthy oranges, greens, and yellows that make me want to entertain more. The whole space truly feels like stepping into that friend's home who always makes everything look effortless. Plus, they've lined up workshops for things like wreath-making and paper flower crafting. Most days, you can find The Goodwich Coffee Bar on site.
FLORAL SOCIETY HOLIDAY SHOPPE 145 Palisade Street Lobby, Dobbs Ferry
Through December 20 | Tuesday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Select weekends (check events for details)
Hudco Holiday Market - The wonderful co-working space Hudco, where I spend most days, is hosting a festive holiday market. Christy Knell has curated 20+ local vendors offering kids' clothes, women's fashion, gorgeous jewelry, and home goods. Picture Book (The Rivertown’s favorite indie bookshop!) will be there, along with Via Viaggio's seasonal CBD gummies in fun flavors like gingerbread cookie and cherry Moscow mule. Pop in for hot cocoa, coffee, and holiday vibes. Santa will be making special appearances throughout the day!
HUDCO HOLIDAY MARKET 145 Palisade Street, Dobbs Ferry
December 14, 11am - 4pm
Make Your Mark[et] - Fellow Hudco friend Melissa Panszi Riebe from AD'Zine has created something special. Not only does she sell her handmade one-of-a-kind jewelry, but she's gathered over 70 makers from across The Hudson Valley into a storefront in Hastings. Check the calendar for special pop-up events within the Pop-up, where select artisans will be in the store to meet shoppers – including Mateo Mattia for onsite leather engraving and Adonia Floria showing off her gorgeous dried bouquets. Personally, I have my eye on a wooden perpetual calendar puzzle where you slide pieces around to show the month, date, and day (way better than my NYTimes Games app addiction).
MAKE YOUR MARK(ET) 22A Main St, Hastings-on-Hudson
Through December 24 | Check the website for hours
Makers Central - There's so much talent under one roof in this garage-turned-cool-loft space. What makes this extra special is that the ceramicists, woodworkers, printmakers – basically everyone who makes beautiful things in Tarrytown – bring out their kilns, smokers, and printing presses so you can get a behind-the-scenes peek at how everything's created. It feels more like an open studio than a typical holiday market. They also bring in local drink and snack makers, too – think small-batch bourbon and local craft beer. Pro-tip: Go early if you want first dibs on the Connor McGinn ceramics. My go-to gift is a collection of three slightly mismatched bowls in varying shades of drippy green. Always a crowd pleaser.
MAKERS CENTRAL 84 Central Ave, Tarrytown
Saturday, November 30: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Sunday, December 1: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Folkways: A charming wine shop in a Train Station specializing in natural wines, small-batch producers, and a large selection of food, wine & beverage books. The shop is hosting a series of pop-ups and food events featuring selections from Fat Apple Farm charcuterie, Bloomy Dobbs cheeses, plus wine and cocktail tastings.
FOLKWAYS 3 Front Street, Croton Falls | Check website for hours and event details.
Field + Supply Holiday MRKT - One of the most perfectly curated markets, scaled down to a manageable 50 vendors. I love stocking up on Tracey Tanner's leather pouches - they're such a perfect gift and come in so many great colors. I am currently obsessed with "Campfire + Fir" from Catskill Candle. It reminds me of a new and improved “Baies” (IYKYK). Ticketed entry gets you in on both days.
F+S HOLIDAY MRKT The Senate Garage, Kingston
November 30 - December 1 | 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Fuller Market - I first learned of this market through L'Impatience Studio, one of my all-time favorite ceramists for minimalist bowls, plates, and vases. For two days, they join local Kingston artisans for some of the hippest Hudson Valley creators. Look for cozy sweaters with a little edge from Eleven Six and Scandinavian-meets-Japanese table linens from Olga Joan.
THE FULLER BUILDING 45 Pine Grove Ave, Kingston
December 14-15 | 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Churchtown Dairy Holiday Market - I haven't been to this market yet, but just having an excuse to visit the cows is reason enough for me to make it happen! Besides the farm store's regular items (cheese, beef, milk, and books), they’ll be selling gifts from local makers and farmers in the community, like gin from Branchwater Farms, natural yarns from NY Textile Labs, plus hot cider and treats to enjoy while shopping.
CHURCHTOWN DAIRY, 357 Co Rd 12, Hudson
Saturday, December 14 | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Black Barn Winter Market - Located in Millerton, SkyRise Farm’s Farm's cozy winter market is back for year two. The barn turns into the perfect winter hideout with fires blazing and hard-to-find makers. Upstate Soul Club will be spinning fireside grooves. I’ve never been, and I can’t wait to check it out. Bonus: ticket sales support Tri Corner F.E.E.D.
BLACK BARN WINTER MARKET, Millerton

Holiday Market at Yellow Studio - By day, it's a gallery and artist studio space, but I'm really looking forward to this all-women group of creators they've gathered. It's a small but very carefully selected group. I wish League of Friends existed when my kids were little - the organic clothes are totally my style: simple, well-made pieces in muted colors, the kind of favorite items that get passed from friend to friend. The Wreath Forager will also be there selling her wreaths, which are like works of art made entirely from foraged materials.
YELLOW STUDIO 792 NY-35, Cross River
November 24 | 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Craft Fest at Stissing House - Over 30 makers and dealers are setting up in the Stissing House tavern with pottery, baskets, textiles, jewelry, and more. Many of the beautiful handcrafted items used at the restaurant will be available to purchase. Food service runs throughout the event. Curated by Deborah Needleman, former editor-in-chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine. This is a ticketed event – grab them early, as it's likely to sell out.
STISSING HOUSE 5852 North Main Street, Pine Plains
Saturday, December 14: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM | Sunday, December 15: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
In2Green Warehouse Sale - I’m a long-time fan of this holiday warehouse sale, famous for up-cycled blankets in bold colors – Last year, I bought a bright red with a large white cross (very Scandinavian) and a black-and-white version. You will also find amazing deals on other textiles like napkins, pillows, and pajamas, 50-80% off retail prices!
In2Greet 23 Hawthorn Avenue, Yonkers
Friday, December 6: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Saturday, December 7: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
And a few more….
